In Beverly Hills the Democrat disease of taxes has affected the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce.
"The new tax on all Beverly Hills businesses proposed by the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, which The Courier reported yesterday, probably violates new Proposition 26 enacted yesterday by California voters.
The Chamber wants a tax to pay for its' operations. "The Chamber's proposal would generate millions of tax dollars for the Chamber, forcing every business to pay an additional $250 - $400 or more in business license fees.
The Courier has learned that approximately 70 percent of the money raised would be paid for Chamber staff and overhead."
Corporate corruption is alive and well in Beverly Hills. Enough businesses won't pay to join, so the Chamber wants to tax businesses to get their money.
Prop 26 eliminates the euphemism of a "fee" and calls all fees and imposts "taxes," requiring a vote of the people for approval.
The Chamber proposal calls for the city council to approve the new tax rather than presenting it to the people for a vote.
Chamber CEO Dan Walsh again refused to comment on the matter.
Previously, he refused to disclose his salary and allow access to Chamber board minutes to at least one member entitled by law to them."
Dan Walsh sounds more like Barack Obama than as a legitimate Chamber executive.
Were I a business in Beverly Hills, I would try to form a real Chamber of Commerce to show that this City Hall/Democrat front does not represent me.
What do you think about this so-called Chamber of Commerce in Beverly Hills?
