1. Poll Suggests Big Opening for G.O.P. Going Into Midterms, NY Times, 9/15/10 If the election was held today, the GOP would pick up 7-8 Senate seats and about 54 congressional seats. In politics, 47 days is a very long time. The Democrats have union money and a president that will pass anything to make his base happy, while bankrupting families and killing jobs (did I mention his opposition to Israel and promotion of Palestinian terrorists?)
This election is about the economy, stupid. as the GOP campaigns on that theme, the Democrats make personal attacks and run smear campaigns--and that is why the numbers above will be higher,not lower on November 3.
2. Voters Deliver a Reminder to Republicans (and Pundits), By NATE SILVER, NY Times, 9/16/10
Only the Republican can kill their chances to win big on Nov. 2. For example the way Washington GOP'ers tried to throw Christine O'Donnell under the bus even before she won the nomination.
The issue is taxes, debt and the economy. The public, even Democrats, understand that Washington under Obama, Reid and Pelosi is more interested in illegal aliens, protecting terrorists and helping unions rather than creating jobs. Today Obama is meeting to create amnesty for about 700,000 illegal aliens--while 22 million American do not have jobs.
Priorities, Obama's or America's, will be decided on November 2.
3. Secretary Napolitano "delusional," says citizens' group, Washington Examiner, 9/15/10
Napolitano is either corrupt or delusional. Either way, she needs help or an indictment. But, she is a perfect fit for President Obama.
"As crime and violence continues along the U.S.- Mexican border unabated, and overwhelmed federal agents are increasingly attacked by heavily armed drug smugglers, the nations delusional Homeland Security chief assures Americans that the de facto war zone is as secure as it has ever been, according to a non-partisan, public interest group based in Washington, DC. "
She has told American, 80 miles from the border in Arizona that the American government can not,will not, protect them. There was a book in the 1960's that covers this, "None Dare Call it Treason".
4. Poll: Voters Disapprove of How Obama Is Handling Illegal Immigration, CNSNEWS.com, 9/15/10
Obama has given amnesty to illegal aliens who have not been arrested in two years. he has given amnesty to illegal aliens who go to school.
Today he is going further--he is giving citizenship to illegal aliens who go to school or join the military. No law authorizes this--plenty of lawsuits to stop this. But President Obama is a community organizer, laws and rules means nothing--force lawsuits and the expenditure of tax dollars. Maybe, he thinks, we will get tired of fighting for Constitutional government.
5. Democrats fret over John Dingell race, Politico.com, 9/15/10
The Republican running for Governor in Michigan is 20 points ahead of the union backed Democrat. Detroit is looking at turning itself into farms--no joke. This is a State the unions have demolished--the State is in worse shape than California. Now John Dingell, of the Dingell family that has owned this congressional seat since 1933 (not a typo), is in danger of losing the seat.
This seat is in trouble because even Democrats are tired of the Dingell monarchy. If this seat is in trouble, then it is true, per Dick Morris, that close to 100 Democrat seats are in trouble.
