Is it any of your business to know the sex lives of truck drivers?
Would it even matter?
"The federal government has spent $550,496 on a project that involved conducting focus groups and in-depth interviews with American long-haul truck drivers to learn about their sex lives in order to assess their risk of contracting HIV or other sexually transmitted infections.
The project has failed to find any instances of HIV among the truck drivers studied."
Actually, this could have been done for about $10--all the Feds had to do is check the records of the Center for the Study of Diseases in Atlanta, which keeps such records.
Why do we have a deficit? Nutty studies like this. Years ago, Congress voted to spend money to study "why San Francisco prostitutes used drugs". At the same time, we spent U.S. tax dollars to study the sex lives of panda's IN CHINA.
Who says spending is not out of control? Government, local, State and federal has plenty of money, but a major deficit of common sense.
