For years the Democrats have told us we needed expensive programs to stop crime. They said that the unemployed are criminals. Here are the facts.
"Based on figures released last week in Crime in California 2009 report, state Attorney General Jerry Browns office found that virtually all manner of criminal offenses are in decline. The data documents criminal activity reported to or observed by law enforcement, not necessarily all crime in the Golden State.
In making the announcement, the attorney general highlighted drops in violent crime rates.
However, the most significant change has come in the number of property crimes: 595,813 in California last year, more than 125,000 fewer (17 percent) than in 2005."
Yet unemployment is California, in real numbers, is over 20%. So why don't we have a crime wave? Because even in the Depression crime was not a problem (yes we did have Al Capone and friends--by in general crime was not a significant problem)
This reminds me of the fraud promoted by the same people, folks suffering from the deadly AGS (Al Gore Syndrome). In both cases liberals want us to make honest people poorer by spending more tax dollars for lies, smears and theories provided by folks who gain grants, loans and money from the fraud.
Government is the crime, not the people. Government is creating the bad hot air, not jobs.
