In just four months the State of California has run up a $21 billion deficit--and that does not include the $5 billion in lost lawsuits we can not pay or the $3 billion in asset sales that will never happen.
Total--four months of Sacramento government and $30 billion in deficit. Just 120 days to do this much damage. Of course the passing of phony budgets in September, 2009, February, and July of 2009 did not help. Passing massive tax increases in February did not help, passing AB 32 really hurts. Maybe the budget we pass in January or February, 2010 will be a little more honest.
