Is the ownership of a choo-choo train an essential government operation?
The State of California--hundreds of billion in debt, a $30 billion deficit, is giving TAX dollars to Santa Cruz County, to buy a choo-choo train.
Cops and firefighters are being fired. We have 12.5% unemployment--Jerry Brown is demanding a total of $50 billion in NEW taxes, over five years.
But Sacramento has $14.2 million to give to Santa Cruz to buy a choo-choo train. What a waste of money. More evidence of why we do not need higher taxes, we need common sense in government.
