The American economy can be rated by the amount of oil consumption. As consumption goes up, so does the economy--sadly, over the past five years it has gone done 5%, while Chinese consumption has risen!
"Startling data released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA) revealed that U.S. oil consumption has declined by 5 mil. barrels per day- 25%- from the nation's 5-year moving average. To put this number in perspective, China has increased its consumption by 3 mil bpd during this same 5-year period. The EIA breaks down total consumption by category (gasoline, diesel, heating oil, jet fuel, chemicals and plastics, as well as 'other' oils), and tracks demand over the current and prior week, 4-week avg., prior year and 5-year avg."
This is what happens when your policies kill’s jobs and taxes force big corporations overseas, just to make a profit.
2. Attorney General Holder blasted for being defiant during probe, Jim Kouri, Washington Examiner, 12/05/10 h
Like his boss, Eric Holder, our Attorney General, is an open bigot--he hates whites, as if he also spent twenty years in the pew listening to Jeremiah Wright. Even the U.S. Civil Rights Commission notes the bigotry of the Administration.
"In January 2009, a civil suit was initiated against the Black Panthers, its chairman, and the two men at the polling place for alleged Voting Rights Act violations. Despite the entry of a default in DOJ's favor, in May 2009 the Department abruptly reversed course and dismissed charges against all but one of the defendants, and reduced the original sanctions it requested against the remaining defendant.
The Commission issued subpoenas for documents and for the testimony of key DOJ witnesses, including those supervisors allegedly responsible for the change in course of the lawsuit. The Department, however, refused to allow anyone with firsthand knowledge of the lawsuit to testify before the Commission and failed to provide critical documents relating to the Department's decision-making process."
Holder and Obama protected bullies with clubs trying to stop white people from voting--Jeremiah Wright must be proud.
3. In tax defeat, Dems pay the price for old tricks, Byron York, Washington Examiner 12/06/10
Democrats outsmart themselves, the people win and the Democrats exposed.
"So why not try reconciliation? If it was used to pass the Bush cuts in the first place, couldn't it have been used to extend them? That way, Democrats, who have 58 votes, could have passed their bill with just 51 and would not have had to worry about a GOP filibuster. Taxes on the "rich" would go up, and progressives everywhere would be celebrating today.
Alas, it didn't happen. And, although the details are complicated, the Democrats have only themselves to blame.
To pass a measure by reconciliation, the Senate must pass a budget that contains what are called reconciliation instructions. But this year, as they faced an angry electorate and grim prospects in the midterm elections, the Democratic leadership made the specific decision not to pass a budget. Revealing their spending priorities to voters already unhappy with out-of-control federal expenditures was just too risky, so Sen. Harry Reid and party leaders punted, even though passing a budget is one of Congress' core constitutional responsibilities.
With no budget, there could be no reconciliation. And no possibility of using reconciliation to extend the Bush tax cuts -- which were originally passed with bipartisan support -- on the Democrats' terms. Shirking your constitutional responsibilities can have consequences."
4. What pay freeze? 1.1 million federal workers still getting $2.5 billion in pay increases, Mark Hemenway, Washington Examiner, 12/06/10
Obama is as phony as a three dollar bill and a scam artist that would make Bernie Madoff blush. ObamaCare shows the lies, no need to repeat them. Now Barack has decided to lie about a Federal "pay freeze".
"President Obama spoke of the need for sacrifice last week when he announced a two-year pay freeze for federal employees.
But feds won't be too terribly deprived in 2011 and 2012. Despite the freeze, some 1.1 million employees will receive more than $2.5 billion in raises during that period.
Congress is expected to approve Obama's proposal, which cancels only cost-of-living adjustments for two years. Regularly scheduled step increases for the 1.4 million General Schedule employees — who make up two-thirds of the civilian work force — will continue. The size of those increases ranges from 2.6 percent to 3.3 percent and by law kick in every one, two or three years, depending on an employee's time in grade."
5. EDITORIAL: Wave goodbye to Internet freedom, Washington Times editorial, 12/06/10
Obama controls auto companies, banks and financial institutions, your health care, government education, your taxes. Now he wants control over the Internet, so HE will be able to hold back information from the public and stop those on the Internet that oppose him. Imagine Fox News having the government take down its website because Fox told the truth about the Obama lies and bigotry.
"The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is poised to add the Internet to its portfolio of regulated industries. The agency's chairman, Julius Genachowski, announced Wednesday that he circulated draft rules he says will "preserve the freedom and openness of the Internet." No statement could better reflect the gulf between the rhetoric and the reality of Obama administration policies.
With a straight face, Mr. Genachowski suggested that government red tape will increase the "freedom" of online services that have flourished because bureaucratic busybodies have been blocked from tinkering with the Web. Ordinarily, it would be appropriate at this point to supply an example from the proposed regulations illustrating the problem. Mr. Genachowski's draft document has over 550 footnotes and is stamped "non-public, for internal use only" to ensure nobody outside the agency sees it until the rules are approved in a scheduled Dec. 21 vote. So much for "openness."
