PLEASE PASS THIS TO YOUR FRIENDS--LET THEM KNOW MORE ABOUT POLITICS AND PUBLIC POLICY THE FORMER MAINSTREAM MEDIA WON'T TELL. THANKS
1. Public Acceptance of New TSA Procedures Has Been Exaggerated, Dan Miller, Pajamas Media, 11/21/10
Did you really think the government, under Obama, would tell you the truth? Or that the media was not in his pocket?
"The public seems greatly confused by the new airport screening procedures and with good reason. However, a CBS survey was recently taken of 1,137 randomly selected people with landline or cell phones and it was concluded that:
Americans overwhelmingly approve of the use of full-body digital x-ray machines — a new technology in use at some airports in the U.S. Most, meanwhile, do not approve of racial or ethnic profiling — a practice not in place.
The sample size and selection methodology seem reasonable. However, the following questions apparently were not asked: “Have you or an immediate family member flown on a commercial airliner in the United States since November 1, 2010?” and “Do you or an immediate member of your family intend to fly on a commercial airliner in the United States in the near future? If not, have your plans been changed on account of recent changes in airport security procedures?” A breakout of the data as provided by the Yes and No respondents to these questions would have made the survey far more informative."
Ask the wrong questions, you get the wrong answers--and that is what the formerly mainstream media has done.
2. Subsidies for plug-in cars: A scam for big business, By: Timothy P. Carney, Washington Examiner, 11/22/10
Want to see fraud and payoffs to special interests and unions, find a government.
"When you see bipartisan agreement on energy and transportation policy, it means one thing: truckloads of subsidies for well-connected big businesses touting some unproven high-tech "green" solution.
Most green subsidies are mostly harmless (if also useless) -- such as solar and wind subsidies. But in recent weeks, lawmakers are lining up behind one green idea that could waste unprecedented amounts of resources -- venture capital, taxpayer money, intellectual innovation -- by approving vast new subsidies to make plug-in electric cars the dominant mode of transportation.
A cabal of government-friendly big businesses -- ranging from lobbying king General Electric to made-for-subsidies startups like Coda Automotive and GridPoint, Inc. -- have formed the Electrification Coalition, which lobbies for expanded subsidies for plug-in cars."
When you see NBC and General Electric shilling for Obama, it is about money for this corporation, not interest in the public welfare--legalized bribery--we give Obama good stories and support for his totalitarian polices, and he gives us contracts and tax dollars.
3. OBAMA USING EXECUTIVE ORDERS TO IMPLEMENT RADICAL AGENDA, By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN, 11/22/10
If congress won't give you authority to harm every job and family in America, then you just do it by Executive Order. Then you wait for the lawsuits. By the time the courts overturn your abusive actions, we are all eternally harmed anyway.
"Does President Obama plan to move to the center in response to his overwhelming rejection at the polls on November 2nd? No way! Instead, he is moving to implement, through executive action, two of the most controversial items in his 2010 agenda -- a carbon tax and pollution permit system and a ban on the use of secret ballots in union elections. Through executive action by the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the Obama Administration is planning to effectuate both policies without asking Congress.
Never mind that he couldn't persuade even a top heavy Democratic Congress to pass either program. Or that public opinion polls show massive rejection of both measures. Or that each is a sure job killer by itself -- and together, they are even worse. This arrogant, ideologically-driven radical is determined to have his way and the public be damned!"
4. Arizona school district sends letters home about overweight kids, By Laura Donovan,The Daily Caller, 11/22/2010
Is Flagstaff, Arizona close to San Francisco? if not geographically, certainly ideologically. Now the school district is sending letters home to parents claiming their children are "obese".
Were I in Flagstaff, I would send a letter to each administrator and teachers, telling them they are fat--and lack common sense to be in government education. What would you do?
"Chubby elementary school children in Flagstaff, Ariz., have more than just bullies to worry about. If they’re too fat, their school will notify their parents.
Starting in the fall, students in the Flagstaff district will be weighed and measured at school. Students who are found to be overweight, marginally overweight, or underweight will have a letter sent home to their parents, which will include graphs showing a range of appropriate weights for a given age and height."
Can't read, can't do math, large number of illegal aliens in the classroom, but government educators have a concern about a child's weight--as if it were any of their business. I would sue for emotional distress if I got such a letter.
5. Al Gore cries crocodile tears over ethanol, Green Hell Blog,11/22/10
Al Gore finally gets it right.
"Al Gore admitted today that corn ethanol was “not a good policy,” according to Reuters — but that’s not the end of the story.
Though he campaigned for ethanol in the past, Gore said,
“It is not a good policy to have these massive subsidies for (U.S.) first generation ethanol… First generation ethanol I think was a mistake. The energy conversion ratios are at best very small… It’s hard once such a programme is put in place to deal with the lobbies that keep it going… One of the reasons I made that mistake is that I paid particular attention to the farmers in my home state of Tennessee, and I had a certain fondness for the farmers in the state of Iowa because I was about to run for president… The size, the percentage of corn particularly, which is now being (used for) first generation ethanol definitely has an impact on food prices… The competition with food prices is real.”
Gore admits he harmed families by creating ethanol subsidies which raised the cost of food for the table. Wonder when he will admit his fraud promoting Climate Change/Global Warning--the real killer of the American economy?
