California is dying the death of a thousand cuts.
"The California State Water Project is initially allocating 25 percent of contracted amounts for water deliveries for 2011.
It’s the highest initial allocation since 2008.
But the state says it expects water allocations to eventually rise to as much as 60 percent."
Even if 60% is the final number, that means 40% of our water needs will be held up by government. How farms will go fallow? How many farmers will be forced to sell their water rights instead of farming? How many people will lose their jobs?
California is in a Depression, this guarantees we stay in an economic Depression for a long time.
When will the people of California tell government people deserve the water, not the delta smelt?
