Get real, the Obama Debt Reduction Commission wants to wait till 2075 to fully change Social Security—all of us and Social Security will be long gone by then.
Yeah, sure, get rid of the mortgage deduction on homes--that would mean the immediate collapse of home values and banks. No need for foreclosure investigations--people will live in their homes for free, since the home would lose, overnight, half their value
We do get a balanced budget--in 2037--27 years from now. Is this some Saturday Night Live skit paid for by the taxpayers?

*The plan would eliminate the deductibility of mortgage interest payments. Millions upon millions of homeowners would be absolutely furious.
*The plan would tax health benefits provided by employers. That would make millions of people very angry."
Maybe David Zucker wrote this as an afterthought to "Naked Gun" and Airplane"--this is not comedy, it is slapstick garbage. At least "Naked Gun" had Leslie Nielsen--this comedy has Barack Obama.
This does not open up a discussion, except to show that Erskine Bowles and Alan Simpson need mental health care. This was another Washington exercise, meant to more some people feel good and others to make a lot of money and add to their resume's.
