  • Feds push to start bullet trainbuild in Central Valley--Push CA into Insolvency Soone

Obama thinks he is going to give California $3 billion to build a choo-choo train, owned by the government, in the Central Valley. But, our law says there has to be private investment--and that has not happened.

The good news is that the new GOP Congress will stop the funding of this sure money loser.

"Construction of the long-proposed California high-speed passenger train system should be started in the Central Valley, the Federal Railroad Administration says Thursday – and it’s back up the suggestion with $3 billion.

The money should be used to build the system either between Bakersfield and Fresno or between Merced and Fresno, the FRA says.

Future parts of the system would link the Bay Area to the Valley and Bakersfield to Los Angeles and San Diego. Eventually, a leg would connect Sacramento and Stockton to the system."

The total cost of the 13 leg system is approximately $200 billion, just to build. Who is going to pay the multi-billion subsidies to keep it rolling once built? A bankrupt Federal government? An insolvent California government? Would you will willing to pay higher taxes so unions can own and run a choo-choo train?
