PLEASE PASS THIS TO YOUR FRIENDS--LET THEM KNOW MORE ABOUT POLITICS AND PUBLIC POLICY THE FORMER MAINSTREAM MEDIA WON'T TELL. THANKS

Great news!! Today it was reported that the economy created 151,000 new jobs. Bad news, more than 250,000 people stopped looking for jobs--all this means that the unemployment rate stays at 9.6% and the real unemployment is really over 20%.
"Many new reports have detected "improvement" in the economy in the July-September period. Indeed, the GDP number was a little better than the 1.7 percent posted for the second quarter. A closer look, however, provides little comfort.
Blame it on the "dead" guy. That is what Washington insiders are doing. They are blaming Rahm Emanuel for the massive Democrat losses on Tuesday.
"Half a continent away, campaigning for himself in the most pro-Obama place on the planet, largely sheltered from the Republican rubble crashing down on his party all across the country.
And his old colleagues in Washington aren’t too happy about it. Some of them shake their heads in disbelief that Emanuel would bolt at precisely the juncture when the Democrats needed to shape their strategy and message during the homestretch of what everyone knew would be the toughest election cycle in years."
Guess the corrupt stimulus programs, ObamaCare and its death panels, BO apologizing to terrorist had nothing to do with the election results. Only if Rahm had been in D.C. the Democrats would have won. Now you know why they lost--they were in Fantasy Land.
3. Cost of Obama's Trip to India Angers Right, by Brian Montopoli, cbsnews, 11/04/10
The Left media just does not get it. Obama is going to India and Asia for ten days, at a cost of approximately $200 million per day--$1.2 billion. What a waste.
"Earlier this week, the Press Trust of India reported that the United States will "be spending a whopping $200 million per day on President Barack Obama's visit" to Mumbai.
The story lacked a named source, and the $200 million claim was credited to "a top official of the Maharashtra Government privy to the arrangements for the high-profile visit."
The implication of this story is that conservatives do not like this much spending on a business trip, while the Left, since it is NOT complaining, likes it. This is why the blowout on Tuesday--the media does not understand that the 80% of America that is NOT liberal opposes waste in government. Maybe Obama should have gone without his 3,000 person entourage?
4. How the press let us get in the mess we’re in, Reflections of a Newsosaur, 11/04/10
Thanks to the sleeping media, the Democrats really did not believe a tidal wave was coming, until it was too late.
"Although a vigilant press is supposed to help alert society to such dangers before they advance as far as they have gotten today, the dominant media failed miserably in the last two years to rivet proper attention on a historic economic cataclysm that has sapped the wealth and confidence of millions of Americans.
Why did the press do so little so late? Here is a stab at the answer:
Captivated by the prospect of a new kind of president after eight years of non-existent weapons of mass destruction, unaccomplished military missions and an economy artificially levitated by phony home loans, the mainstream media behaved more like lapdogs than watchdogs when Obama entered the White House."
5. Examiner Editorial: Memo to McConnell: Earmarks must end, Washington Examiner, 11/04/10
John Boehner in over twenty years in Congress never requested an earmark. That is a record for the GOP in Congress to admire and promote.
But the GOP Senate leadership still does not get it.
"McConnell's sole discordant note came when he was asked if he would support in the Senate an earmark moratorium like that adopted by House Republicans. He said he was skeptical of a moratorium because "it's really just a question about discretion." It is indeed an issue of discretion whether senators should in the form of earmarks give tax dollars to favored spending projects, family members, former aides, or campaign donors. Voters have made clear since before 2005 when the infamous Bridge to Nowhere came to public notice that they want wasteful federal spending stopped, especially when it is used to win votes or reward friends." If we are to be a majority in the Senate after the 2012 elections, we can not be ambiguous about earmarks--they must go.
Should a bill have earmarks, the Senate GOP'ers must vote it down till the earmarks are gone. Then the public will believe us--we are a new Republican Party.

- While real GDP grew by an annual rate of $66 billion, nearly two-thirds of that -- $47 billion -- came from businesses restocking depleted inventories.
- And while it's true that consumer spending increased at the fastest rate since late 2006, all that demand was satisfied entirely with imports, adding little to U.S. output.
- Worse, business investment, though improved, remains weak -- thanks to fear over the impact of ObamaCare, a disastrous finance overhaul law, a growing $1.75 trillion regulatory burden and the prospect of massive tax hikes on entrepreneurs and small businesses early next year."
