  • San Diego Said NO to Higher Taxes

The people of San Diego are smart enough to say NO to higher taxes for failed politicians to spend.

"Prop. D trails 62 percent to 38 percent with 21 percent of votes counted.

The results are nowhere near the goal sales tax proponents had set for themselves. Before numbers were released, Tom Shepard, Yes on D's campaign strategist, said the effort would have a "very good chance" if it garnered 50 percent or more in early results."

This money was to be spent to cover deficits and give more money for the city council to spend.

Also, Prop. 24 lost, this is the Democrat measure to take away tax credits from businesses.

Even though the tidal wave did not hit California, at least in some areas we had did have some sanity--and San Diego led the way.
