While the mainstream media does not notice or report on the increased crime, the people have.
"The Milpas Community Association will hold a March for Public Safety at 11 a.m. Saturday in response to a recent increase in crime.
The group hopes to send a message to city leaders, as members say there has been more tagging, gang violence, property crimes, drug use and assaults in the area without an appropriate government response."
While government is cutting spending, the criminals have become more active. The first purpose of government is to protect its citizens. That is not happening the way it should.
Now the people are marching. Next they will use the ballot box to get officials who care about safety. It is about time.
