Nationally, newspaper daily circulation has gone done by 5%.
But the LA Times has gone from 657,467 to 600,449, that is down 8.67%
The San Fran Chronicle has gone from 251,782 down to 223,549 or down by 11.21%
The Sunday times has gone from 983, 702 to 901,119 down by 8.40 %
The Chronicle is not even in the top 25 Sunday papers in the nation. so we do not yet know how much circulation they last on Sundays.
Note that the Times lost 60% more daily circulation than the national average and the Chron lost 120% more than the national average.
Is this because the California economy is so bad or because Californians feels they have more and better sources for information?
The good news is that this loss is than the previous year. The bad news is that the trend is continuing.
What do you think is the cause--the economy, lack of credibility, lack of trust, too much propaganda?
