We have high deficits and high taxes.
We have failed government schools and illegal aliens taken advantage of us every day.
We have AB 32 killing jobs and a California Air Resources Board (CARB) that prefers no work, travel or living be done in California. CARB wants California to look, feel and smell like New York.
Well our freeways are about to look like New York City.
"Complaints have been piling up recently about the amount of trash accumulating on nearby freeways and ramps, and many people say the rubbish presents a poor image of the city.
"It's like we're living in a third-world country," said Pauline Bereuter, who has called Caltrans twice to request cleanup crews on the 57 Freeway.
The agency has fallen behind on cleanups throughout Southern California because state cuts and furloughs have left crews trying to do more with less, a Caltrans spokesman said.
"Things like trash aren't attended to as quickly as we'd like," said Patrick Chandler, a spokesman for Caltrans' Los Angeles region."
CalTrans wants more folks to Adopt a Freeway--in other words have private people pay for cleaning up the freeways, which is actually the job of government. This is a tax and the government calls it an adoption.
This is why we need regime change on November 2. Add trash collection as another failure of State Government.
