The voters of the Bay Area voted heavily for the fraud called "High Speed Rail". This choo-choo train was sold based on cost and ridership--which would save the planet.
Now we know the ridership was doubled and the cost given, $21 billion, is only 10% of the actual cost to build the system.
This massive money loser is being built for the unions and big corporations who donated the money to sell us on this special interest boondoggle.
But the promoters told the Bay Area folks they would "think" about putting the train underground. Big lie--never intended to do that. They knew that freight trains need ventilation--but the general public did not.
