We all know that unions own cities and other government agencies.
We all know that the union gets its money through what real people call extortion--either you pay dues (a bribe) to the union or you are not allowed to work. Government protects unions from prosecution for extortion.
We also know that pensions, imposed by contracts between unions and the cities they own, are about to tank dozens of cities.
Facts and fiscal responsibility have never been important to unions.
So, in Menlo Park, in Northern California, they are spending whatever it takes (it is not their money, it belongs to the workers).
If the measure to reform pensions is not passed, add this city to the list of potential bankrupt cities for 2011.
