Thanks to union contracts, Los Angeles is on the verge of bankruptcy.
"The City has projected budget deficit of $319 million for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2011.
The elimination of this deficit will require some very tough and painful decisions involving not only personnel and programs, but the pressing need to fund the $16 billion unfunded pension liability and $10 billion need to repair and maintain our failing infrastructure."
Bonds money has been misused. The Mayor has spent as much time on the school system as he has the city budget--but has no legal responsibility for schools. It is as if LAUSD was his mistress--and he has lots of experience with mistresses and failing his legal obligations.
Like San Fran, Los Angeles is owned and controlled by unions and the Democrats—is it time for a regime change?
