  • Hedgecock: California Circles the Drain

It has just become known the AB 32 and SB 375 were developed based on fraud from scientists. They overestimated air pollution by 340%. There is no going back, tens of thousands of jobs have been lost forever.

The phony "budget" just signed by Arnold starts with a $9.5 billion deficit (after six years of deficits totaling $140 billion) and needing $10 billion in NEW borrowings to keep the State going. Oh, State Controller John Chiang says he still might have to issue IOU's.

San Diego, which is facing bankruptcy, just got a secret, dead of night earmark into the State budget. The Redevelopment Agency had its cap on borrowing increased from $3 billion to $9 billion. This allows government to build a football stadium. Oh, because it is "redevelopment” money, the people do not have to vote on this.

CalPERS has unfunded liabilities of $525 billion, per Stanford University. The health care fun has $52 billion in unfunded liabilities. CalSTR's (teachers pensions have approximately $48 billion in unfunded liabilities. The UC pension plan (raided by the Richard Blum, Mr. Dianne Feinstein) has $21 billion in unfunded liabilities.

The cost to California for illegal aliens is $21 billion per year.

We have people on death row for thirty years.

"After digging by Councilmember Carl DeMaio, it was revealed that a San Diego City librarian retired from her $139,700 job with an annual retirement payment starting at over $227,000 plus full medical. A four- star general in the U.S. Army gets around $149,600 per year in retirement."

Anybody want to start a pool as to when in Spring of 2011, when the real budget is passed, California will be forced to declare insolvency? We are circling the porcelain bowl. Government is doing the flushing.
