  • California: Don't sign off just yet on state budget 'framework'

Secret budget deals in back rooms in Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades made by four legislators and the Governor.

No public hearings. No public debate. The public is not even allowed to see the new budget until AFTER it passes. Sounds like Cuba, not America (oh, Pelosi told us we were not allowed to know what is in the ObamaCare bill till after it passed). Arnold, Pelosi, two peas in a pod.

"Yet details of this plan are so fuzzy -- and the trust level of state leaders so low -- that Californians should be wary.

Is this framework the basis for a relatively gimmicks-free agreement that includes reasonable assumptions about revenues and savings? Or will it be another "house-of-cards" budget pact that will collapse in the face of close examination? But some of the details appear encouraging."

You know politicians are afraid of a backlash when they keep the details of a bill secret.

By my standards--if a bill is secret, it is a bad bill, something Arnold and friends are not proud of.

Shut down the smoked filled room deal--open it up for the public to see.
