Operating, possibly in the Schwarzenegger bedroom (or his Santa Monica office) (he is VERY sick according to his spokesperson) Arnold and legislative leaders are negotiating a State budget--86 days after it was due.
This is being done without public input, legislative hearing, notice of possible changes.
Even the Soviet Politburo was not this secret. The 38 million people of California will be forced to accept a budget that does what?
Arnold must be more like San Fran Nan (Pelosi) that we thought. Arnold might be quoting Pelosi on this one, "You will know what is in it when it is passed".
How corrupt can a system be? How much violence to the people can a Governor force on us?
Do we have a right to discuss the budget BEFORE it is passed? Should this be done in secret in a Pacific Palisades bedroom, or home?
Do we deserve the right to know the elements before it is passed?
Remember, Arnold wants to put an 18% TAX on the rent seniors pay for skilled nursing facilities--a guarantee they will be forced on Medicaid programs quicker.
We must demand the negotiations be made public. We must demand real hearings on the budget.
