I will not be subtle. The City of Los Angeles received $111 million in Federal "stimulus" money. They created or "saved" 55 government jobs.
That is not a disgrace, it is open corruption.
"Two Los Angeles agencies have received $111 million in federal stimulus funds but have used the money to create or save just 55 jobs, City Controller Wendy Greuel said Wednesday.
Announcing the results of two audits, Greuel said she found no misuse of federal Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds by officials in the Public Works Department and the Department of Transportation.
But she said she was disappointed by delays in preparing projects and awarding contracts that could have cut into Los Angeles' double-digit jobless rate."
No "misuse", but "disappointment".
Come on, I can smell the fraud and corruption all the way in Simi Valley. This is about using tax dollars for political purposes. Where did the money go?
Lots of excuses, but no answers. Read the article and you will see lots thrown against the wall, nothing is sticking.
