  • Number of failing schools in California increases dramatically

Individually California government schools are looking good--based on our own test scores. On a Federal, more independent and honest determination, our schools are failing and failing bad.

"Underscoring the unworkability of California's current school "accountability" system, test scores at California schools are going up, at the same time as the number of failing schools as defined by the federal government are going up dramatically as well.

The number of schools in need of "program improvement" those schools labeled as failing under the federal No Child Left Behind Act has now soared to 3,197 schools, out of some 6,142 which are rated under the law. This includes 567 schools that have been designated "program improvement"

The statewide drop out rate is 40%, LAUSD has a 60% drop out rate.

Even Leftists have to admit this is a poor record--so what if the 60% that stay in California government schools are doing better, if 40% drop out?

Are you proud of this record?
