Unions are organizations that force its members to pay bribes in order to work. Work at a hospital "owned" by the SEIU and you either pay a monthly fee to the SEIU or you work at another hospital.
Unions also make rules for itself, that unless you have an honest Attorney General, California does not--we have Jerry Brown, nurses will be ruled by an organized syndicate, not professionals.
For instance, Assemblyman Curt Hagman found this:
"The union's most recent transgression involves continuing education credits (CE). Existing law requires registered nurses, like most other licensed professionals, to complete classes or activities on the latest developments in their profession on a regular basis. CE is an excellent way for our nurses to stay up-to-date in their field so they can continue to provide excellent care to their patients. There is nothing controversial about mandating continuing education.
The problem is that some rank-and-file members of the nurses union recently reported that they were told they could receive CE credit for showing up at a political rally at the State Capitol. The rally, which was billed as a celebration of a woman's right to vote, was in reality a protest against a current candidate for Governor. Anyone who attended the rally could quickly see that it was squarely aimed against that one candidate. This rally took place after a four-hour CE course on "advocacy." A flier advertising the course also listed the protest and rally, which unquestionably blurred the lines between politicking and learning."
What if the nurses attended a Tea Party, would they get CE credit? Of course not.
