National Political News and Views 9/6/10
NEW: Periodically I will provide a daily NATIONAL version of the California Political News and Views. These articles will have national impact or information--yet affect everybody in California as well as Nebraska, Texas, Maine and other States where folks read the CPNV every day. 1. After a Life in Labor, a Union Leader Retires, Frustrated by the Movements Troubles, New York Times, 9/4/10 Labor unions only represent 7% of the private sector--even with its bullying tactics. It is government that they control--but union officials realize their days are numbered. Most folks understand the deficit and pension problems, along with corruption, is based on union efforts to control government. As Bob Dylan would say,"The times they are a-changin". That is why a good regime change, from city council to Congress is important.
Even in my town of Simi Valley, a conservative town, the City Council has members, like Steve Sojka who have taken money from the openly corrupt SEIU. And he calls himself a "conservative". Know any conservatives who take money from the SEIU? So, look at the donations of candidates for local office, you make be shocked and have a Sojka among them!
2. Brokeand Building the Most Expensive School in U.S. History, Wall Street Journal, 9/4/10 Los Angeles Unified School District is a billion in deficit. It has a 60% drop out rate--and they are proud it is not 70%.
Yet LAUSD has spent $1.3 billion on just three schools--one of which is on top of a cancer causing methane gas field! Cancer anyone? This is a district out of control, run by a union that has a section promoting the end of Israel and giving it to Hamas and Hezbollah--not kidding. LAUSD is a great example of why vouchers are needed. This is a district that provides like education, lots of propaganda and work for those willing to pay bribes. Students are an afterthought. LAUSD is the poster child for government education--like it?
3. Dems run away from health care, Politico, 9/5/10 As best as can be told, almost NO Democrat running for office--other than San Fran Nan and Harry Reid (who will be buried with it) are campaigning on their YES vote on Obamacare.
Barack Obama and his band of radicals, thankfully, are going to turn over Congress to Republicans--who have been chastised by the Bush years and its increase in government. Democrats who want to win and are campaigning AGAINST President Obama. Democrat candidates are running from him when he shows up in town. What they do not understand is that by taking money that he raised, they are tied to him.
November 2 will bring regime change and the potential return to constitutional government.
4. As Americans Celebrate Labor Day 2010, U.S. Factories Are Closing In Droves, Economic Collapse.com, 9/6/10 Thanks to illegal aliens, union control of government and policies, Democrat tax increases, crazy environmental laws, Americans jobs are going to other nations. Last week a Sacramento area firm announced it is firing 901 workers and sending their jobs to India and Uruguay.
American jobs are in trouble. We gave "stimulus" money to buy Chrysler and General Motors (now Government Motors). They used part of the money to build plants in Mexico and china--with OUR money.
Thanks to minimum wage laws promoted by unions, Project Labor Agreements (PLA's--union only labor) stimulus funds that mandate only union labor, real American jobs are being lost. Unions, which at one time brought us responsible labor laws, now brings us high costs, unemployment and deficits and debts.
5. Employees Pay More and Get Less from Medical Coverage, abcnews.com, 9/6/10
Workers are paying 14% more this year for health coverage, and getting less.
Another way Obamacare and the San Fran Nan Democrats have really harmed workers in America. Thanks to Barack and his band of radicals, American workers are paying more for health care and getting less. But, these are the good times. In the future workers will be paying more from their checkbooks, plus from taxes to pay for death panels, rationed health care and at a certain age, the END of health care and the start of government "making you comfortable" instead of treating you. Barack of course will still have the best of health care.
