Thanks to the LA Times survey of 6,000 bribe paying teachers, we know which are qualified and good, and which, thanks to paying a bribe to a union are mediocre or horrible.
Thanks to the unions and laws, your children can be forced into a classroom with a bad teacher. That is worse that being forced to buy bad vegetables or meat. At least the affects of the bad food is temporary--the affect of a bad teacher is felt for a lifetime--that is why government harms our children.
"But that emotion pales in comparison to the angst parents feel about who their child’s teacher will be. A good teacher can make a dramatic difference in a child’s life. A good teacher begins to open the worlds wide horizon for a child, shedding light into the child’s small sphere of reference. A good teacher grounds a child in solid knowledge and builds understanding, equipping him with the tools of learning. A good teacher builds a child’s confidence to expand their learning and explore their world.
On the other hand, an apathetic teacher who takes little interest in her subject or her students lives can stifle children’s innate spirit of learning or worse, create an aversion to education. The course of a student’s life often depends largely on his teachers."
Government holds children hostage as if it had a gun--and the results are the same. Only when parents demand good teachers, and the right to choose the teachers, will government education have a chance of respectability and honesty.
Our children demand nothing less.
