The Arrogance of The Public Employee Union Member, Publius Forum, 8/31/10 While the private sector is contracting, government is still growing and hiring Last year California hired 23,000 new employees. So it is expected that government workers believe their jobs are permanent. Until we have regime change in Sacramento, your State Capitol and Washington, it will continue to grow. Obamacare creates 65 NEW agencies, for instance.
2. Reid puts renewables mandate in play, eyes lame-duck energy bill, The Hill, 8/31/10 Cap and Trade is NOT dead in Washington. Radical job killing "environmental" efforts will be on the table during a lame duck session of Congress. Harry Reid is promising all of us another attempt to raise the cost of doing business, more U.S. unemployment and policies that will make America a Third World country. Harry Reid must be defeated, America can not afford the tandem of Obama, Reid and Pelosi--we can fire two of them on November 2.
3. Down with Big Government, Big Business, Big Labor, Michael Barone, Washington Examiner, 8/31/10
The combination of big unions, corporations and government has created a shadow government. Unions and businesses provide the money and government provides the tax policies and regulations to help the special interests. Note that beneficiaries of big corporations and unions are losing or will lose congressional races--Murkowski, Bennett, Spector and in November dozens of union/business Democrats will be sent home. Americans want representation in Washington, not dictation from Washington.
4. Illegal immigrants in U.S. declining, group says, azcentral.com, 9/1/10
Thanks to angry citizens, efforts to control illegal aliens and our borders have been partially successful. E-Verify makes it harder for illegal aliens to get jobs--in fact it discourages them from applying. Any politician that promotes "a pathway to citizenship" has a hard time for election--even John McCain the friendliest member of Congress for illegal aliens, was forced to oppose them to get re-elected. The good news is that many promoters of criminals, illegal aliens, will be defeated on November 2--this will help bring more technology and personnel to the border. Now we need cities and States, to do an "Arizona"--declare illegal aliens not wanted and government will enforce the law.
5. Another Atlas Shrugs - Small Business Owners Chime In, Mish's Global Economic Trends, 8/24/10 How Obamacare effects small business, true story. Why is Obamacare a killer? Because it forces small business to cancel good health care or stop hiring in order to pay for Baracks' nightmare. Or both.
We are beginning to feel and see the results of the Totalitarian program--it will only get worse.
