When you have approved $140 billion in deficits in six years, why would anyone listen to you?
When your approval ratings are in the low 20's, why would anyone care what you say?
When you have called the Democrats "girly-men" and Republicans "losers at the box office", why would anyone care what you say?
He even refuses to endorse the Republican nominee for Governor!
Arnold may be the lamest of lame duck governors this State has even seen. Our budget was due June 30--yet the governor did not meet with the legislative leadership to talk about the budget from sometime in June till last week--even he did not think this was important enough to discuss and negotiate for 60 days, days the State did not have a budget.
"The governor said the state was spending $52.5 million a day that it did not have while the budget impasse drags on. He did however express confidence that the parties would soon return to the bargaining table and get a budget deal done. "After they're done with their kabuki, they will come back and negotiate," he said." Every year he calls the budget debate "kabuki"--it is neither funny nor serious any more.
Today is the 61st day without a budget--for most of that time Arnold would not meet with the legislative leaders. Next week he leaves for several days for an Asian trip.
Do not expect him to gain status between now and the end of the year. Arnold is NOT Merrill-Lynch--when he speaks, no one listens. BTW, isn't Merrill-Lynch out of business?
