This is good to know, 300,000 Californians currently can get marijuana legally. Who says California does not have a sense of humor?
"Prop. 19 proponents point to support from the states NAACP chapter and labor unions like the United Food and Commercial Workers Union. They also say legalizing the drug will improve border security by putting drug cartels out of business.
Despite the political opposition, California is well positioned to make the issue resonate with voters. In 1996, it was the first state to legalize medical marijuana, which has helped develop the idea of weed as a legitimate business.
According to Americans for Safe Access, more than 300,000 state residents are medical marijuana patients, and the industry raises about $100 million in sales tax revenue every year a compelling figure considering the states current $19 billion deficit."
One good thing about Prop. 19, it would allow you to go to work totally stoned and your boss will not be able to fire you. Better yet, the Feds have a rule for contractors--if you have a contract over $100,000 you must be a Drug Free workplace, but Prop. 19 mandates the workplace be a stoners convention. Overnight, California business will lose $35 billion in Federal contracts--that will help our jobs and revenues.
Want to kill the State? Pass Prop. 19--but since you will be stoned you might not notice.
