If you thought the price of a Lakers ticket was high, just look at the cost of government.
"The average American worker had to toil through the first 231 days of 2010more than 63 percent of the year to pay off the costs of their state, local, and federal governments. This leaves just under four and half months for Americans to provide for themselves and their families before the growing tab of the cost of government comes due again."
Six out of ten days of work is for government, not your family or business. Does that make you sick? Does it take away your incentive to work hard and succeed? Is this why so many are staying on unemployment or getting on welfare?
"Federal spending, always the largest component of the cost of government, consumed 104 days of the average Americans life this year. The cost of sustaining state and local governments has likewise grown taxpayers must work 52 days to pay off this burden, four days longer than in 2009."
So when you look at the November ballot and see lots of bonds, parcel and utility taxes think of how much longer you will be working for government to pay those off.
When you hear a candidate say we need to expand a program, start a new one or create an AB 32 type program that kills jobs and revenues, think about being a slave to government.
Bottom line, when you work more than half a year just for government, you are a slave, without the shackles.
