The openly corrupt and socialist SEIU "owns" an Oakland nursing home. If the financial owners did not bow down, the union would strike. Of course, the elderly and sick patients would be harmed, but the SEIU obviously do not care.
"A group of at least 37 caregivers at two Oakland nursing homes found out they had been replaced after a five-day union strike that ended this morning, a union spokesman said.
About 150 employees who are members of Service Employees International Union-United Healthcare Workers West went on strike Monday at Piedmont Gardens and Grand Lake Gardens nursing homes and were scheduled to return to work this morning.
However, at least 37 workers found out either Friday night or this morning that they had been replaced by new employees hired during the strike, union spokesman Jarard Kings said."
Wow, the real owners noticed that 37 union members did not show up for work, and took it as a resignation. When they wanted to come back, per Federal law, they had to get in line for on job opening, that is thjeir right.
This is want it takes to remind unions that they can not try to close down a business, harm the sick and elderly, and then come back to work when they want.
Go on strike if you want, that is your right. But, remember, failure to show up to work to strike is a statement you have resigned. Your choice, work or strike. Work or lose your job.
