In some communities, it is the door to door approach, not high tech, that wins elections--but that era is dying out.
"Quite literally, Covina Councilman Bob Low is low tech.
If he sends a letter to Covina's city manager or a resident, it is typed on a sturdy and heavy green Olympia typewriter that's more than 30 years old.
Low doesn't own a cellphone. And the 77-year-old is not addicted to e-mail."
Wow. My 11 month old grand daughter has an email address!! It is used to reply to her first birthday party--that is how ubiquitous email is. She has a toy cell phone, her favorite toy--maybe because she sees everyone around her using a real cell phone.
It is nice to see old fashioned direct politics in action. Sadly, that era is ending, unless people like us go to Townhall meetings, insist on directly talking to our elected officials.
What do you think, do you like being texted or talked to by elected officials?
