Bottom line: when government interferes with the economy, strange things, usually bad happen.

Traditionally, the summer house buying season starts in March and April, and revs up through May and into June.
But this year, a peculiar combination of federal and state tax incentives motivated buyers to close deals in May, leaving a void of buyers in June.
At the same time, low mortgage interest rates have persuaded buyers to pay higher prices, pushing up the median, analysts and real estate agents said."
Oh, and watch the modified homes go into foreclosure--due to government action forcing the modification of loans for people who can not pay, at any price.
San Diego is not alone in this problem. President Obama and his band of congressional Democrats have harmed the economy for a generation.
