Fresno appears to be trying to rival Chicago for election fraud.
"A woman working for two candidates has been charged with 30 felony counts in what Fresno County's voter registrar calls the biggest election fraud case he has handled.
Darlene Holland, 52, turned in 100 forged voter signatures on behalf of Cynthia Sterling, a Fresno City Council member running for the county Board of Supervisors, and Oliver Baines, a police officer running for Sterling's seat on the council, authorities said.
A complaint filed in Fresno County Superior Court on Monday charges Holland in 10 of those cases, and charges her with 10 counts of forgery, 10 counts of perjury and 10 counts of filing false documents. Each count is tied to an alleged forged signature on an election document."
Then you have former GOP Assemblyman Mike Briggs, who was thrown out of the legislature for voting for phony tax increasing budgets, is also in trouble while running for city council.
"Fresno City Council hopeful Mike Briggs owns property in the Tower District. He also owns a home east of Fresno, where his wife is registered to vote. His children attend Clovis Unified schools.
Yet Briggs says his actual residence is the rented bottom floor of a home on North Echo Avenue, which is owned by his longtime political ally, Scott Hawkins, and his wife, Saundra Duffy-Hawkins. The Hawkinses, Briggs says, live in an apartment upstairs.
The house just happens to be in District 3 -- where Briggs is seeking election to the Fresno City Council. The other properties are not."
Did the SEIU send a team into Fresno? Oh, the SEIU did spend $500,000 on races for Democrats running for "non-partisan" office in Fresno.
