Either the City Council of Bell, in LA County, is stupid, or thinks the people of their town are stupid.
"Tonight we have a meeting where we will take drastic measures, she said. Unfortunately, we had too much trust in people we felt were doing an excellent job.
She added: Mr. Rizzo will have to go one way or another. Asked if Rizzo would resign, she said, "We hope."
Are we to believe that the city council did not know that the city manager was making that much? This is from a council member, of a town of 37,000 that makes $100,000 per year to serve on the Council.
Looks like there is one honest council member. "Councilman Lorenzo Velez, who was appointed to the council in the working-class city in October, also said he received only $310.62 every two weeks for his work as a councilman -- far less than the $100,000 his colleagues collected annually."
All the others should resign or be Recalled. This is a great example of government having more than enough money; it is broke because of corruption, not lack of money.
