The deficit of the city of Eureka, in Humboldt County, is 20% of the budget.

Every city and county in the State is in trouble. Imagine, if you are honest, having to cut 20% of your budget in one year. This is a disaster for the people of the area. But, the government knew this was happening and did little to prevent the pain.
The good news is that the pain of the cuts will force the people to rethink the idea that government is the answer.
