People who use marijuana do so knowing it is illegal and under some circumstances could send them to jail. Certainly, caught using the drug would harm the reputations and careers of many.
So what to do?
Oh, make it legal--allow folks to harm themselves--then claim it is patriotic to use marijuana. The more marijuana is used, the more revenues for politicians to irrationally spend.
We have told our children it is a bad thing to use drugs--now, for the sake of money we will tell them it is OK to drug yourself.
Does Sacramento need money to misspend so badly they are willing to put the health of their children and society at risk?
