Years ago the city of Dallas needed lots of police officers. So, they started hiring cops from all over the nation--except they did not want cops from New York. Thought they were ill trained, too aggressive and not competent.
Now we have a small newspaper needing a reporter. But, if you were a full time reporter for the LA Times, you need not apply.
What a statement about the quality of reporters for the Times--not qualified to report for a small town, throw away newspaper!
