  • Bankrupt LA County has Time to Tell LA Times What They Can Print

The County of Los Angeles is in fiscal trouble. "Los Angeles County's financially strapped hospital system is projected to have a $204 million deficit by the end of the fiscal year in June, and the shortfall is expected to reach nearly $600 million in 2010-11, a county official told the Board of Supervisors today." This is just one part of the hundreds of millions of deficits facing the County.

Yet, they still have time to run the local throw away, the LA Times. This newspaper is a propaganda sheet for special interests, protects illegal aliens, hate when people protect themselves from criminals with guns, loves higher taxes and does what it can to hide facts from the public.

Instead of being concerned about this, the elected Supervisors are upset about advertising in the paper. "We urge the Times to stop selling its front pages to advertisers, especially in such an offensive and alarming manner. The cost of this distasteful practice to the people of Los Angeles County is far greater than any short-term gains by the Tribune Company."

I think the truth is that the writer of the letter is actually auditioning for head writer for Saturday Night Live. This can not be a serious effort or concern.

Stop the deficit, and then the Board of Supervisors can go to the sand pile and swings to play.
