Thanks to another screwy idea from Arnold, the price of gasoline in California is going to rise--taxes are going up tomorrow.
"Gas station owners and managers reached Monday said that they expect to have to raise prices a little to absorb some up-front fees the state is imposing to even out the changes."
How did he do this? "The new arrangement, signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to balance the state budget, will lower the sales tax on nonaviation fuel by 6 percentage points to 2.25 percent, and raise the flat excise tax collected from distributors by 17.3 cents to 35.3 cents a gallon."
Six months and counting, can’t wait, California can not afford Arnold any more. Of course he is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, so a few extra dollars of taxes won't matter to him.
