There is a billboard in San Fran that promotes the "right to die". Looks like the unions are taking it seriously and working hard to kill the hotels and tourism of this once great city.
"Seven of the citys largest hotels are currently under boycott by Local 2. The union was reportedly calling event organizers to tell them not to plan meetings in San Francisco.
In the midst of the economic downturn, the bureau, a trade group composed mostly of hotel managers and convention organizers, believes that $5 million in tourism revenue have been lost between the months of September and April due to union actions, according to Pete Hillan, a Hyatt spokesman.
If you’re part of an institution to promote tourism and you actively campaign to do harm, you shouldn’t be part of that board, said Hillan, referring to the vote last week."
Is the union leader a murderer of tourism or a suicide?
I believe he is a suicide--along with the owners of the hotels. Until they stop being extorted by gangsters--give us the money or we will kill your business--they will continue to lose customers.
It is time to tell corrupt unions--organizations that tell people either pay us a bribe or you do not have a job--the 1930's are over. Now is the time to hire people who want to work for a corporation, not organized crime.
Until then, San Fran is getting what it deserves--a $483 million deficit, jobs and revenues lost and a reputation as a city that loves being dysfunctional.
