California is in trouble--following in the steps of Greece, Spain, Italy and Ireland.
Arnold and Obama say we should create jobs, green jobs, just like Spain (which is on the verge of a Greece bailout)--for every "green job" created, Spain lost 1.5 jobs. Thank is why Spain has a 20% unemployment rate, that they admit.
According to Senator Bob Huff, "To their credit, many of these European countries are making some hard decisions to quell the pain they have created, albeit at the eleventh hour. Ireland has made salary cuts of 5%-15% for government workers and significant cuts to welfare; Italy has made $28 billion (24 billion) in spending reductions and wage freezes for the public-sector; Greece has made cuts to government employee pensions; and Spain has cut public-sector pay by 5% and ended a program that provides a $3,000 (2,400) check for all newborns."
California needs to get tough as well. The Governor announcing a $72 million union "give back" of pay and benefits are barely a start to be noticed when the deficit is around $40 billion.
At least Senator Huff understands California is in trouble. Senator Romero, a Democrat, wants us to repeal the State rock the "Serpentine, a shiny, green and blue rock found throughout California, was named the official State Rock in 1965. It contains the state's principal deposits of chromite, magnesite, and cinnabar. California was the first state to designate a State Rock." why, because it might be dangerous, toxic.
Dangerous is an $800 billion debt and a deficit of $140 billion created in just six years. Huff is concerned about the fiscal crisis, the Democrats are concerned about rocks--on the ground, not in their heads.
Toxic is the unemployment and tax rates--both too high.
Huff has his head screwed on right--Romeo is still looking for her common sense.
