I have known John Marelius as a reporter for the LA Daily News and for the San Diego Tribune for about 30 years. He is honest, filled with integrity, knowledgeable and now, fired.
The fringe media is collapsing, so the San Diego Union Tribune gets rid of a qualified reporter, to be replaced, if at all, by a just graduated this month High School journalism student who had her biggest "scoop" the changing of the lunch menu at the cafeteria.
In the past five years the paper has fired more than half it staff. The good news is that the limited pages printed each day are just the right size to paper train your dog. And, worth about that much.
The fringe media, filled with government propaganda, Democrat , press releases and support of higher taxes, illegal aliens and judges who steal water from the public, is committing suicide, in the public square.
Reading the alternative media in San Diego, like the San Diego News Room, Voice of San Diego, the San Diego Reader, and much more, gives you true insight to the stories, and corruption, of the day.
Sorry my old friend, John Marelius, lost his job. But it was to be expected. He was a reporter, not a cut and paste artist.
