How many people, in this deep recession use CALWORKS--the same as before the recession?
"In Los Angeles County, about 415,000 people are enrolled in the program, which comes to about 4 percent of all residents.
That number has dropped since former president Bill Clinton's welfare reform in 1998.
Even two years into the Great Recession, there are still less people signed up for CalWORKS than 2005, according to data from the county.
Very few people think the state legislature would wipe out the entire program, which provides needy families with cash assistance for housing, food and other expenses."
Is this really a program JUST for illegal aliens?
"Montebello, a 62,150-resident city, is 80 percent Latino with a median income of $51,000.
According to the county, 3.7 percent of its residents are on CalWORKS.
In neighboring Monterey Park - which has a median income $49,576 an 60,000 residents - only 1.9 percent of residents are on CalWORKS.
About 60 percent of Monterey Park's residents are Asian."
Lower income Asians don't use it, but higher income Hispanics do? No, illegal aliens that live in cities that are majority Hispanic do.
End CalWorks and you end one of the illegal alien magnets.
