A police union head used a spy to get confidential information.
"In a breach that may have compromised investigations of alleged police misconduct, an employee of San Jose's Independent Police Auditor repeatedly leaked confidential information over several years to the San Jose police officers union, the union's former president told the Mercury News.
Police Sgt. Bobby Lopez said that the person, whom he would not identify, gave him inside information about complaints against police officers made to the IPA. At one point, he said he was tipped to an upcoming Mercury News story about the violent arrest of a San Jose State student."
Why hasn't the official been arrested?
Why hasn't the union been closed down?
Why do we allow the open corrupt actions of organized crime--and that is really what this union is, organized crime--to be tolerated?
Police spies? Union spies? This is sick business and we are to blame--either the city council demand criminal action, stop negotiating with organized crime--or admit they are a part of this criminal syndicate.
Shame on all of us for not demanding unions be stopped by demanding bribes, hiring spies and acting no different than a Gotti or a Madoff.
