Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger refuses to endorse the Republican nominee for Governor, Meg Whitman.
From the Washington Post, “During a meeting with the Post editorial board today, my colleague Ruth Marcus asked Schwarzenegger for his thoughts on Tuesday's election results in California. The gubernatorial race between Democrat Jerry Brown and Whitman will be interesting to watch, he said, because "they are such opposites." But then he noted that he hadn't endorsed in the race. "I have too many things on my plate," he said. When Ruth asked about the possibility of his coming out of neutrality and endorsing Whitman, Schwarzenegger said, "You're assuming I'm going to endorse the Republican." A Republican governor not endorsing the Republican candidate to be his successor?
In the past six years Arnold has created over $140 billion in deficit.
Last year, Arnold gave the people of California something he thinks of as a "gift"--tens of billions in tax increases, alongside of his other "gift" AB 32, he is responsible for the highest unemployment in California history.
Yet he just will not quit. He still have more of the same for us in the next seven months.
""It doesn't matter if this is my last months in office, which it's not, it's my last year in office," Schwarzenegger told "Nightline" co-anchor Terry Moran in an exclusive interview. "I mean we continue on and we sprint through the finish line. The last months, the last year, the last six years, it's all about serving the veterans, because there's no one that appreciates their work more than an immigrant like myself."
For the sake of the men, women and children of California--he needs to take a time out--we can no longer afford his gifts. He is a very rich man--the rest of us have been made poorer by him.
Seven months and counting.
