The Feds OK'd an election--that was a surprise.
The good news is that the people of the Central Coast have a real choice--between a San Fran liberal (John Laird) and a fiscally responsible representative (Sam Blakeslee)
"Despite objections by California Democrats, the U.S. Justice Department gave the go-ahead Thursday to a special election June 22 to fill the state Senate seat vacated by Lt. Gov. Abel Maldonado.
The department announced its approval at a hearing in San Jose of a three-judge federal court considering a Democratic-sponsored lawsuit that sought to block the election."
The Blakeslee election will allow the people of the Central Coast fiscally responsible representation in the Senate for the first time in years. That is good for all Californians.
