How can you force someone to "volunteer"? Kick their children out of a government school if the parents refuse? What about the parents who have five or six kids, three jobs and want a life--will government force them into slave labor?
What if a parent said, "since this is mandatory, I get paid $50 per hour--pay me or I go to the Labor Board?
"In Alum Rock, where 88 percent of the students are poor and 54 percent are language-learners, most of its 28 schools don't even have a PTA. But even as some critics warn working parents don't have extra time, trustee Gustavo Gonzalez is pushing volunteerism, citing studies showing that students do better when their parents are involved.
"We're trying to create a culture of strong parent-guardian-family participation in schools," he said."
Actually, there is good news here, that the government school does not understand. The "volunteers" will have to be finger printed and vetted by the police.
Wonder how many illegal aliens the district will find. Then, per Federal law, they have to be turned in--just a thought--this may be a great way to identify illegal aliens.
