Do you know how corrupt and incompetent a government school has to be for the LA Times to oppose a tax imposed by government education?

Parcel-tax measures for other schools including those in Pasadena and South Pasadena have been written to include citizens oversight committees to keep a careful eye on the money flow. L.A. Unified's measure calls only for annual audits. Those would inform the public about how the money has been spent but would do little to ensure that future budgeting decisions are sound. Supt. Ramon C. Cortines says he is determined to form such a committee, and we believe him, but in the absence of such language in the measure, his assurances are not enough."
LAUSD has no accountability in its budget, expenditures or management. This is a corrupt district that can teach Chicago.
They spent $400 million on one school built on top of a cancer causing methane field. They built a $300 million school of the arts--in downtown Los Angeles, mandating thousands of students and administrators each day clog up the freeways.
This is a district totally owned by the unions. Do you trust a union boss to spend your money? When the LA Times says vote NO, you have to understand how bad LAUSD is run--even the Times does not trust it.
